Leopold was an excellent musician, but he also appreciated the theatrical validity of the performances that Wolfgang and Nannerl began giving in Salzburg. He soon began playing the harpsichord himself, and later studied the violin. Mozart’s sister was 4-1/2 years older she took harpsichord lessons from her father, and Mozart as a very young child eagerly absorbed the sounds of music.
